Valentines love-fest

I’m a big softy romantic at heart, so what better excuse than valentines day to share the love?

I know the cynics talk about valentines day being a commercial farce, but I’m a glass-half-full kinda gal.  In between going to work, raising children, taking care of the house and being generally busy, it’s hard sometimes to fit in some ‘you time’.  Valentines day is a nice prompt to take the time to show appreciation for each other, it’s not all about expensive presents (though a bunch of flowers wouldn’t go amiss!).

So… I want the newly engaged, the old marrieds and the simply head-over-heels lovebirds to celebrate their love with a photo shoot together.  This special shoot will cost just £100 for a 1-2 hour shoot at a location of your choice, with 10 of your favourite images on disc (this offer is valid for bookings made between now and 15 March 2011).

Also, while I’m here, don’t forget that wedding photography packages booked before the end of February will cost just £795, a saving of £200 on the usual price.  For more information, check out the wedding package page.

All in the name of charidee // event photography Cornwall

After weeks of planning, weekly meetings, collecting generous donations and uber-organisation skills, my friend Hayley hosted her auction and fundraising event last night, all in aid of the neonatal unit at Treliske.

The evening went off without a hitch, loads of people came along and a heyooge amount of money was raised.  At the last count, £3700 was the figure we’d hit, and there is still money coming in.

I ran a photo booth for the event, people paid £1 to have their photos taken and the images will appear for sale here on my website over the next few days.  I’ll be editing and uploading as and when I can, so pop back regularly to check for new photos added.  Just go to the ‘clients’ link in the menu at the top of the page, and click on the LOVEneonatal gallery.

Thanks everyone for being such sports on the night, I had such a blast running the booth and just loved seeing which props people chose and some of the fabulous poses you came up with!

Finally… if you’ve seen the booth setup and think it looks like fun, I offer this service for weddings, birthday parties, festivals and other events.

Everyone had sooo much fun with all the crazy props you’ve got! Its a fab idea, the pics are amazing and it is something totally different. I don’t think we would have pulled such a big crowd without the photobooth-it was a real attraction. Thanks so much Don, you worked like a trojan as usual, and the results are incredible which is now the standard from DSP xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks guys for the lovely comments. I had a ball doing the booth and hope lots of people buy images afterwards to raise even more dosh for this great cause.

Cheery chap and his ballerina sister

This weekend I shot (with my camera!) a very gorgeous 5 month old and his 4 year old sister.  Little Henry had only just woken up when I got there but was full of smiles from the second I arrived.  I got on with the snapping while his sister entertained us with her superb ballet moves and singing.

Oh, these are so precious – the one of the two of them together is sweet – really lovely, and they’re so alike!

Oh my gosh. The first picture is absolutely stunning!

Introducing… the photo booth

What better way to get some fun pics at your wedding, a birthday party or an event, than to have a photo booth with some fancy dress props?

I’ll be taking the photo booth setup out for it’s first event next weekend, when my lovely friend is holding a fundraising event for Treliske neonatal unit.  If you fancy a good night out, be sure to pop along.  More info on the LOVEneonatal website.

In the meantime though, here’s a few pics from our ‘practise run’.  Well, it had to be done…

I love photobooths. They are ridiculously fun, especially for weddings!
